Jeep in Iowa  My 2001 coast-to-coast-to-coast adventure story

I ended my "Jeep Era" in tha fall of 2007 when I sold my old reliable YJ for a somewhat newer VW Jetta Wagon.

In fact, this whole section is very old at this point. Consider it an homage to an earlier time...

The Suspension Project

During the late winter of 1998, I completed a suspension refit including brand new Rancho RS-9000 shocks.
Also installed ... a beautiful Borla stainless steel cat-back system

   Safety First

I never, ever do ANYTHING under a vehicle until it is fully supported and wheels chocked!
Fail to do this and the result could be very simple - YOU DIE.

Installation included new leaf springs, spring plates and U-bolts.  Also replaced were all bushings, shocks and steering stabilizer.
